ERGONOMIC ARM SUPPORT FOR PROFESSIONAL WORK
Arm support isn't optional—it's ergonomic necessity for anyone working at consoles, desks, or control surfaces for extended periods. When your arms are unsupported, your shoulders carry the load. After an hour, you feel tension. After eight hours, you're fighting pain. Proper arm support transfers that load from your shoulders to the armrests, allowing your upper body to maintain neutral alignment while your hands stay active.
WHAT THESE ARMS DO:
The Standard Arms are professional-grade replacement or upgrade components—not cheap office chair accessories. They feature precision adjustment mechanisms, memory foam padding that maintains its shape through years of use, and ultra leather upholstery that resists wear, spills, and stage abuse. This is the same arm design that ships with new Stealth Chairs—engineered for decades of professional use.
WHEN YOU NEED REPLACEMENT ARMS:
- Worn padding: Years of use compress memory foam or damage upholstery—replace for like-new comfort
- Damaged mechanisms: Bent adjustment hardware or stripped threads from impact or over-tightening
- Missing arms: Bought a used chair missing arm assemblies or lost arms during transport
- Adding arms: Originally configured armless, now want arm support for different work style
- Upgrading from older models: Retrofit newer arm design to older ErgoLab chairs
- Preventive replacement: Touring professionals keep spare arm assemblies for field replacement
- Configuration change: Want Standard arms on a chair currently equipped with Paddle arms (or vice versa)
Here's what separates professional arms from office furniture: adjustment range and repeatability. Cheap office chair arms might raise and lower, but the mechanism loosens over time, causing the arms to sag mid-session. Stealth Standard Arms use star knob locking mechanisms that maintain position under dynamic loads. Set your arm height once, and it stays there—for years. That's the difference between fighting your equipment and forgetting about it.
3-AXIS ADJUSTMENT: INFINITE POSITIONING
Three independent adjustment axes give you complete control over arm positioning
Match any console or desk height
Match your torso width
Fine-tune forearm angle
ERGONOMIC PRINCIPLE: Proper arm support means your forearms rest comfortably at or slightly below elbow height, with shoulders relaxed in neutral position. The 3-axis adjustment lets you dial in this position exactly—not "close enough," but precisely where your body needs it. This is why professional chairs have extensive adjustment ranges while cheap furniture has fixed or limited adjustments.
MEMORY FOAM + ULTRA LEATHER: BUILT FOR THE LONG HAUL
Armrest padding isn't decorative. It's the interface between your forearms and the chair—and after eight hours of contact, that interface better be comfortable. Cheap foam compresses permanently after a few months. Vinyl covering cracks and peels. The Standard Arms use memory foam core with ultra leather covering specifically engineered for professional use.
WHY MEMORY FOAM:
- Pressure distribution: Conforms to your forearm shape, distributing contact pressure evenly instead of creating hard points
- Shape retention: Returns to original form after compression—doesn't develop permanent dents or flat spots
- Temperature sensitivity: Softens slightly with body heat for enhanced conforming without feeling mushy
- Fatigue resistance: Maintains supportive properties through years of daily 8+ hour sessions
- Vibration dampening: Absorbs micro-vibrations and movement, creating stable forearm platform
WHY ULTRA LEATHER:
- Abrasion resistance: Resists wear from daily forearm contact—won't pill, crack, or peel like vinyl
- Spill protection: Resistant to coffee, water, and other studio/stage liquids—wipes clean easily
- Breathability: Allows airflow to prevent sweaty forearms during long sessions or stage work
- Professional aesthetic: Maintains clean, professional appearance through years of use
- Chemical resistance: Won't degrade from skin oils, cleaning products, or environmental factors
- Easy maintenance: Simple wipe-down with damp cloth keeps arms looking new
THE DIFFERENCE:
Office chair arms use cheap foam that compresses flat in 6-12 months and vinyl that cracks in 2 years. Professional arms use memory foam that maintains shape for 5-10+ years and ultra leather that ages gracefully instead of failing catastrophically. The materials cost more because they last longer.
STANDARD ARMS vs PADDLE ARMS: WHICH DO YOU NEED?
Both are professional-grade. The difference is contact surface and use case.
Standard width profile
15" front-to-back, 6" wide
• Compact spaces
• Quick in/out movement
• Default configuration
• Maximum comfort
• Large consoles
• Extended forearm support
(height, width, angle)
(height, width, angle)
SIMPLE DECISION: If you're working standard console or desk setups with typical session lengths (2-6 hours), Standard Arms provide excellent support. If you're doing marathon sessions (8-12+ hours), working at expansive consoles where you need to reach across large surfaces, or want maximum forearm comfort, upgrade to Paddle Arms. Both use the same adjustment mechanisms and mounting hardware—you can swap between them anytime.
REMOVABLE DESIGN: FLEXIBILITY WHEN YOU NEED IT
The ability to completely remove arms in seconds isn't a gimmick—it's essential functionality for professionals who work in different configurations. The star knob mounting system lets you unthread both arms, lift them away, and you've got an armless chair. Thread them back on when you need arm support again.
WHEN TO REMOVE ARMS:
- Playing instruments: Guitar, bass, keyboards—arms get in the way of proper playing position
- Tight control rooms: Compact spaces where arm width interferes with console or desk placement
- Standing/perching work: Some engineers prefer armless when working from elevated positions
- Transport configuration: Remove arms to reduce chair footprint for road cases or tight vehicle loading
- Console overlap: Some large-format boards have armrests built into the console—chair arms would be redundant
- Personal preference: Some engineers simply prefer armless configuration for unrestricted movement
- Cleaning/maintenance: Remove arms for deep cleaning or chair servicing access
INSTALLATION TIME: Removing or installing both arms takes less than 2 minutes. Loosen star knobs, lift arms away. To reinstall: align arms with mounting brackets, thread knobs back in, tighten. No tools. No permanent modifications. Just instant configuration change. This is how professional equipment should work.
INSTALLATION & ADJUSTMENT GUIDE
On the underside of your chair seat, you'll find two mounting brackets—one on each side. These are the receivers that the arm assemblies slide onto. Clean any debris from the mounting surfaces.
Align the arm assembly's mounting track with the bracket. Slide the arm onto the bracket from the front of the chair toward the back. You'll feel it engage with the adjustment track.
Align the star knob with the threaded receiver under the arm assembly. Thread clockwise (righty-tighty) until hand-tight. The star grip gives you plenty of leverage—no tools needed, just firm finger pressure.
Install the second arm using the same process. Arms are handed (left/right) but the installation procedure is identical. Both arms should be secure and at similar heights initially—you'll dial in the exact positioning next.
Sit in the chair at your normal working position. Loosen the height adjustment mechanism (lever or knob depending on arm model) and raise/lower the arm until it supports your forearm at or slightly below elbow height. Your shoulders should remain relaxed and neutral. Lock the height adjustment.
Loosen the star knob underneath the seat that controls arm width. Slide the arm in (toward chair center) or out (toward edge) until your forearms rest comfortably without forcing your shoulders wide or cramping them inward. Tighten the star knob.
Some arm assemblies allow subtle rotation adjustment. If available, rotate the arm slightly forward or back to match your natural forearm angle when working. The goal is natural, unstressed positioning—your arms should feel supported, not forced into position.
ERGONOMIC CHECK:
Proper arm height means your forearms are parallel to the floor (or angled slightly down) when your hands are on the console/keyboard. Your shoulders should feel relaxed, not elevated or hunched. If you feel tension in your shoulders or upper back after adjusting, the arms are likely too high or positioned too wide.
PROFESSIONAL USE CASES
Marathon sessions at large-format consoles demand proper arm support. Set Standard Arms at console surface height so your forearms rest naturally on both the armrests and the console's meter bridge. This dual support distributes load and reduces shoulder fatigue during 10+ hour sessions.
In-the-box mixing means hours with hands on mouse and keyboard. Position arms slightly below desk height to support your forearms while mousing. Proper arm support prevents the "mousing shoulder"—that chronic tension from hours of unsupported arm movement.
Remove arms completely when tracking—guitar, bass, keys all need unrestricted arm movement. Thread arms back on between takes for comfortable listening position. The 2-minute swap time makes this workflow practical instead of frustrating.
Critical listening requires zero physical distraction. Set arms at precise height to support forearms during detailed EQ and dynamics work. The memory foam prevents pressure points that could distract from the work. When you forget about your arms, you know they're positioned correctly.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Compatible with all Stealth and ErgoLab chair models. These are genuine OEM replacement arms featuring the same memory foam padding, ultra leather upholstery, and precision adjustment mechanisms as factory-installed arms. Arms mount to standard Stealth/ErgoLab arm brackets using the included star knob mounting system. Note: Star knobs sold separately—most chairs already have knobs from previous arm installation.
ARMS AS PROFESSIONAL EQUIPMENT
Most chair manufacturers don't sell replacement arm assemblies. When your arms wear out or get damaged, they tell you to buy a whole new chair. That's absurd. The chair frame, seat mechanism, and ergonomic systems are still perfect—why replace a $750 chair because the $150 arms are worn?
We stock replacement arms because professional equipment should be maintainable for decades.
When components wear, you replace those components—not the entire chair. This is serviceability by design.
These Standard Arms use the same memory foam, ultra leather, and adjustment mechanisms as your original equipment. We don't sell cheap replacements. We sell professional-grade components that match your chair's performance standards and maintain the ergonomic benefits that make Stealth Chairs work.
This represents our core philosophy: professional equipment should be built to last, easy to maintain, and impossible to make obsolete. Worn arms after 5-10 years of daily use? Replace the arms. Damaged arms from tour transport? Replace the arms. Want to try Paddle Arms instead of Standard? Swap them. Your chair adapts to your needs instead of forcing you to adapt to its limitations.

STEALTH CHAIR TECHNOLOGY
Patented engineering that actually improves your back health while you work
WHY TRADITIONAL CHAIRS DESTROY YOUR BACK
The revolutionary Stealth™ chair was designed for professional music, lighting, and video engineers who sit at different heights working at consoles, desks, and control surfaces. Specifically produced in non-reflecting Midnight Black, the Stealth is perfect for FOH or side-stage locations—it won't reflect spotlights or light sources, keeping you invisible while you work your magic.
SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN ACTION
Watch how ZenWave™ motion technology supports your body in real working positions
CRITICAL SPECS & WHY THEY MATTER
Why it matters: Stage lights, camera rigs, and console monitors won't catch reflections from your chair. Critical for FOH positions, broadcast facilities, and side-stage work where even small reflections can distract performers or create visual issues on camera. This isn't about aesthetics—it's about professional invisibility.
Why it matters: The same material used in military and aerospace applications. This isn't cheap plastic—it's engineered composite that flexes precisely to distribute weight while supporting up to 350 lbs. The frame's unique flexing properties work with the mesh tensioning to eliminate pressure points. This technology is what makes the ZenWave™ motion possible.
Why it matters: Not all mesh is created equal. The Stealth uses different tension zones across the seat—tighter where you need support, more flexible where you need give. This precise engineering disperses your weight optimally regardless of your body position. Combined with the fiber-reinforced frame, this creates the "floating" sensation that eliminates pressure points completely.
Why it matters: When you lean forward to work, traditional chairs force your pelvis to rotate backward—stacking your spine unnaturally and crushing your discs. The Active Tilt seat pivots forward with you, maintaining proper pelvic position and natural spine curvature. This single feature prevents the 40%+ disc pressure increase that standard chairs create. You can lean into marathon sessions without cumulative damage.
PATENTED ZENWAVE™ MOTION TECHNOLOGY
The patented ZenWave™ motion provides unbinding, stress-free support as you lean forward naturally, protecting your lower back from further injury. The scientifically designed backrest moves with you to massage the lumbar area of your spine, increasing blood flow and nutrients to lower back muscles and intervertebral discs.
The patented ZenWave™ motion technology allows you to float forward and backward without harmful pressure. Your body's natural movements are supported, not restricted.
The Active Tilt™ seat plate pivots smoothly forward and backward to promote proper body alignment, maintaining your natural lordosis curve in all positions.
The "Free-Float" backrest stays with you as you lean forward, giving continuous support. Unlike static backrests that abandon you when you work.
Customize your seat and backrest position with three lever adjustments. Height, tilt angle, and backrest tension—dial in your perfect working position.
Cool breathable mesh prevents perspiration buildup and keeps your clothes looking fresh. No more sweat-soaked shirts during marathon sessions.
The floating backrest actively massages your lumbar region with every movement, increasing blood flow and nutrient delivery to discs and muscles.
PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION: TRADITIONAL VS STEALTH
Traditional Office Chair
Stealth Chair with ZenWave™
These aren't theoretical numbers. Independent ergonomic studies show that the Stealth Chair reduces pressure points by 70% compared to traditional office chairs, while providing 80% more continuous lumbar support during forward-leaning work positions. The result? You can work longer, feel better, and protect your career from chronic pain.
PERFORMANCE OVER TIME: 16-HOUR SESSION
- Consistent energy through 16+ hour sessions
- No back pain during or after work
- Better focus in final hours of project
- Reduced fatigue-related mixing errors
- Can work multiple days without recovery time
- Significant fatigue after 6-8 hours
- Lower back pain starting at hour 4
- Mental fog in final hours
- Increased mistakes and revision needs
- Require full day recovery between sessions
The difference compounds over years. Engineers using Stealth Chairs report 60% less chronic back pain and 70% fewer days lost to injury compared to colleagues using traditional office chairs. Your chair is either extending your career or ending it.
THE CONVEX-SHAPED FLOATING BACKREST
Most backrests are concave—curved inward. This creates pressure points and forces unnatural posture. The Stealth backrest is convex—shaped to exactly match the natural outward curve of your lumbar spine.
Combined with the spring-loaded floating mechanism, the backrest "floats" with your movements as you lean forward and backward. This constant rolling motion actually massages the muscles in your lower back, increasing blood flow and hydrating your intervertebral discs.
The result? Your back muscles stay refreshed even during extended work sessions. Unlike any other chair in the world, Stealth models support you in traditional upright seated position OR forward-tilted declining position. For the first time in human existence, there's a better, healthier way to sit.
The convex shape matches your spine's natural curve, eliminating pressure points and providing continuous massage with every movement

ABOUT STEALTH
ABOUT STEALTH CHAIRS
Almost 40 years of engineering excellence • Trusted by the world's top studios, tours, and venues
THE PROBLEM EVERY ENGINEER FACES
Here's something they don't teach you in audio school: the wrong chair will end your career faster than bad monitoring.
Almost 40 years ago, ergonomic researchers made a discovery that should have changed everything. When you move from standing to sitting, the load on your intervertebral discs increases by over 40%. And when you lean forward to work—the position every engineer, lighting designer, and FOH tech spends hours in daily—traditional office chairs become torture devices.
"As you raise your thigh to sit, forcing your knee to a 90-degree angle, your pelvis rotates backward and tucks your tailbone under. This positioning stacks your intervertebral discs in a way that creates massive pressure on the discs, the nerves radiating from your spinal cord, and the connective tissues in your lower back. This isn't discomfort—it's cumulative trauma disorder. The kind of chronic back pain that ends careers."
— Ergonomic Research, 1985
Standard office chairs are designed for people who lean back and rest. You don't rest. You work. You lean forward over consoles. You reach for faders. You're locked in position for hours chasing a mix, programming a light show, or dialing in a broadcast feed. Every minute in the wrong chair compounds the damage.
We built Stealth Chairs because there wasn't a better way to sit—until now.
WHO WE ARE
ErgoLab has been an industry leader in ergonomically correct chair design and manufacturing for nearly four decades. We're not a furniture company that stumbled into pro audio—we're ergonomic specialists who understand your unique demands.
People are different. Not profound, but most chair manufacturers overlook this. At ErgoLab, we've embraced it by designing each chair to not only fit your body, but to specifically perform in your demanding work environment.
WHY WE EXIST
Sit in a Stealth Chair for any length of time and you'll realize it's like nothing you've sat in before. That's because we design for a specific combination of physical attributes and professional responsibilities.
Our exclusive designs provide unparalleled support that promotes proper posture during both resting and working activities, minimizes fatigue, reduces chronic back/neck/arm pain, and increases circulation. All of which help you perform at your best.
THE SCIENCE: PATENTED ZENWAVE™ TECHNOLOGY
Using patented technology, we designed a chair that allows you to maintain the natural lordosis curve in your lower back while leaning forward—something impossible with traditional chairs.
The secret? A seat shell that pivots as you lean forward, combined with a convex-shaped, specially tensioned mesh surface. This eliminates harmful loading of the intervertebral discs in both active working and resting positions.
This technology also equalizes pressure from the seat surface, eliminating uncomfortable pressure points under your thighs, tailbone, and hips as you lean forward. You'll feel like you're floating.
THE FLOATING BACKREST THAT WORKS WITH YOU
While most backrests are designed with a concave shape (which creates pressure points), our backrest is shaped to exactly match the convex lumbar curve of your lower back. Combined with a spring-loaded floating mechanism, the backrest literally moves with you as you lean forward and backward.
Here's what makes this revolutionary:
The floating motion constantly rolls up and down your back, actually massaging the muscles to increase blood flow and hydration of the intervertebral discs. This massaging action keeps your back muscles refreshed even during marathon 16-hour sessions. Your back gets better as the day goes on, not worse.
Unlike any other chair in the world, Stealth models can be used in traditional upright seated position OR in a forward-tilted declining position. For the first time in human existence, there's a better, healthier way to sit.
