STANDARD OFFICE CASTERS (SET OF 5)
60mm precision casters • Ball bearing design • Studio-safe • Includes 1 locking caster
THE FOUNDATION OF MOBILITY
Casters are the contact point between your chair and your workspace—and in professional environments, that contact matters. These aren't decorative wheels. They're precision-engineered components that determine how smoothly you roll to reach controls, how quietly you move during sessions, and whether you're leaving scuff marks on expensive studio floors.
WHAT THESE CASTERS DO:
The 60mm (2.36") wheel diameter is the professional standard for studio and office environments. Unlike cheap furniture casters that use basic sleeve bearings, these feature dual ball bearing construction—the same technology used in industrial equipment. The result? Decades of smooth, silent rolling without wobble, binding, or failure.
WHEN YOU NEED REPLACEMENT CASTERS:
- Worn bearings: Wheels don't spin freely, binding or catching during movement
- Floor damage: Old casters leaving marks, scratches, or debris trails on your floors
- Noise issues: Clicking, rattling, or squeaking that disrupts recording sessions
- Physical damage: Cracked wheels, bent stems, or missing ball bearings from impact/wear
- Height adjustment: Switching from TourMax (4") to Office (2") casters lowers working height by ~2"
- Surface change: Moving from carpeted control room to hardwood studio floors
- Debris buildup: Hair, cable insulation, or gunk jamming the wheel mechanisms beyond cleaning
- Weight capacity degradation: Casters no longer supporting chair weight properly, causing tipping or instability
Here's what most people don't realize: casters directly impact your working height. Standard 2" office casters position you approximately 2 inches lower than 4" TourMax casters. That's significant when you're dialing in ergonomic positioning. If you're switching between caster types, you may also need to adjust your gas cylinder to maintain optimal working height. The details matter.
OFFICE CASTERS vs TOURMAX: WHICH DO YOU NEED?
Both caster types are professional-grade. The difference is application.
Ball bearing
Soft ABS plastic
Studio/office use
Heavy-duty bearing
TPR rubber tread
Tour/venue use
• Office spaces
• Hardwood floors
• Compact rooms
• Smooth surfaces
• Live venues
• Stages/FOH
• Cable runs
• Uneven surfaces
SIMPLE DECISION: If you're working in a permanent studio or office with hardwood/laminate floors, Office Casters are your choice. If you're touring, working stages, or dealing with cables and uneven surfaces, TourMax Casters are essential. Many professionals keep both sets and swap based on environment.
BALL BEARING ENGINEERING: WHY IT MATTERS
Most office furniture casters use sleeve bearings—a simple bushing where the axle rotates inside a plastic or metal sleeve. It's cheap. It works. For about six months. Then friction wears the sleeve, play develops in the wheel, and you get wobble, binding, and uneven rolling.
DUAL BALL BEARING DESIGN
Ball bearings use hardened steel balls between inner and outer races, distributing rotational load across multiple contact points. This dramatically reduces friction, eliminates play, and extends service life from months to decades.
WHAT DUAL BALL BEARINGS PROVIDE:
- Friction reduction: 80% less rolling resistance vs sleeve bearings—chair glides instead of drags
- Zero play: Precision-fit bearings eliminate wobble and lateral movement in the wheel
- Silent operation: Smooth rotation without clicking, grinding, or squeaking
- Load distribution: Multiple ball bearings share the 350 lb capacity instead of a single friction point
- Longevity: Hardened steel balls resist wear, maintaining performance through decades of use
- 360° swivel: Effortless rotation in the swivel housing for precise directional control
The "dual" ball bearing configuration means two sets of bearings per caster—one for the wheel rotation, one for the swivel mechanism. This is professional-grade engineering. When you roll to reach a fader or spin to face a client, both movements happen with near-zero friction. That's the difference between fighting your chair and forgetting about your chair.
STUDIO-SAFE: PROTECTING YOUR FLOORS
Professional studios invest tens of thousands in beautiful hardwood floors, designer laminate, or specialized acoustic flooring. Then someone rolls in a chair with cheap casters and leaves permanent scuff marks, scratches, and wear patterns. Your floors are part of your brand. Damaged floors look unprofessional, cost money to refinish, and tank your resale value.
HOW SOFT ABS PLASTIC PROTECTS YOUR INVESTMENT:
THE REALITY:
Refinishing damaged hardwood floors costs $3-8 per square foot. A small control room (200 sq ft) = $600-1,600 in repair costs. Or you can spend $45 on proper casters and prevent the problem entirely.
INSTALLATION: GRIP RING STEM SYSTEM
Flip the chair upside down. Grip each caster wheel firmly and pull straight out with steady pressure. The grip ring compression fit releases and the caster slides out. If stubborn, wiggle slightly while pulling—it'll come free.
Before installing new casters, clean out the five mounting sockets in the chair base. Use compressed air or a rag to remove dust, hair, cable debris, or gunk that accumulated over years. Clean sockets = secure fit.
Align each caster stem with a socket. Push firmly straight down—you'll feel resistance from the grip rings, then a solid "snap" as the caster seats fully. No twisting or threading required. Just straight pressure until it clicks home.
Install the one locking caster in the front center position for optimal stability. Flip the chair upright, test all wheels for smooth rolling, and engage the lock to verify it holds the chair securely. Done.
Total time: 3 minutes for all five casters.
The grip ring stem is brilliant engineering—secure enough to support 350 lbs dynamically, easy enough to service without tools.
Pro tip: If you switch between environments (studio and tour), keep both caster sets. Swapping all five casters takes less than 5 minutes—way faster than adjusting to wrong floor types or compromising your working height.
LOCKING CASTER: STABILITY WHEN YOU NEED IT
Every set includes one locking caster that prevents both rolling AND swiveling when engaged. This isn't a gimmick—it's a critical safety and workflow feature for specific situations.
WHEN TO LOCK YOUR CHAIR:
- Critical listening: Eliminate micro-movements that shift your head position relative to monitors
- Precision work: Surgical edits, automation writing, or detailed mastering where even tiny chair movement disrupts focus
- Standing transitions: Lock the chair before standing to prevent it from rolling away
- Sloped floors: Some studios have slight floor angles—locking prevents drift during sessions
- Client meetings: Lock when turning to face clients so the chair doesn't roll mid-conversation
- Load-in/out: Lock during studio setup when you're reaching, lifting, or moving gear around the chair
- Long sessions: Some engineers lock for focused deep work, unlock for dynamic mixing—personal preference
INSTALLATION POSITION: Install the locking caster in the front center position of the chair base. This provides maximum leverage for the lock mechanism and makes it easy to engage/disengage with your foot without looking down. A quick toe tap locks you in place. Another tap releases for mobility.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Universal fit for all Stealth and ErgoLab chair models. The 7/16" × 1-3/8" grip ring stem is the industry standard size—also compatible with most office chairs using grip ring caster mounts. These are genuine OEM replacement casters featuring the same dual ball bearing construction, soft ABS plastic tread, and non-marking design as your original casters.
PRO TIPS: CASTER MAINTENANCE
Hair, cable insulation, and dust wrap around caster axles and jam the bearings. Every 3-6 months, flip the chair and remove debris from each wheel. Use needle-nose pliers or tweezers to pull out hair and thread. Takes 5 minutes, extends caster life by years.
Check casters monthly for cracks, flat spots, or worn treads. A cracked caster can fail catastrophically when you least expect it—mid-session when you're reaching for a control. Replace damaged casters immediately, don't wait for failure.
Office casters are designed for hard, smooth surfaces. Using them on carpet causes excessive drag and premature bearing wear. If you're on carpet, you need TourMax casters or chair glides—using the wrong caster type for your surface kills bearings fast.
Make sure each caster is fully seated in its socket—you should hear/feel a distinct click when the grip rings engage. A partially-seated caster will work loose over time, causing wobble and potential failure. Push firmly until it clicks.
REAL-WORLD APPLICATIONS
Hardwood and laminate floors are standard in professional studios. Office casters protect these expensive surfaces while providing the precision control needed for detailed mixing work. Silent operation means no caster noise bleeding into ambient mic recordings.
If you're working in a home with wood, tile, or laminate flooring, Office casters are essential. They won't damage your floors, won't disturb family members with rolling noise, and provide the maneuverability needed in tight project studio spaces.
TV and radio control rooms need silent casters that won't mark floors or create noise during live broadcasts. The locking caster is particularly valuable for preventing unwanted movement during critical on-air moments.
Mastering engineers need dead-silent environments and micro-positioning control. Office casters provide both—whisper-quiet rolling and precision maneuverability for critical listening positions. The locking caster ensures zero movement during final approval sessions.
BUILT TO LAST, BUILT TO REPLACE
Casters are wear items—they're designed to be replaced, not to last forever. Even the best ball bearings eventually wear after rolling hundreds of miles over years of professional use. The difference between professional gear and disposable furniture is simple: professional gear has replacement parts available.
Most chair manufacturers don't sell replacement casters.
When your casters wear out, they expect you to buy a new $750+ chair. We stock casters so you can maintain your chair for decades.
Every set of casters we sell includes dual ball bearing construction, soft ABS non-marking tread, and the same quality standards as your original equipment. We don't sell cheap replacements. We sell professional-grade components that match your chair's performance standards.
This is part of our core philosophy: professional equipment should be built to last, easy to maintain, and impossible to make obsolete. A $45 caster replacement every 5-10 years beats a $750 chair replacement any day. That's how professional gear works.

STEALTH CHAIR TECHNOLOGY
Patented engineering that actually improves your back health while you work
WHY TRADITIONAL CHAIRS DESTROY YOUR BACK
The revolutionary Stealth™ chair was designed for professional music, lighting, and video engineers who sit at different heights working at consoles, desks, and control surfaces. Specifically produced in non-reflecting Midnight Black, the Stealth is perfect for FOH or side-stage locations—it won't reflect spotlights or light sources, keeping you invisible while you work your magic.
SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN ACTION
Watch how ZenWave™ motion technology supports your body in real working positions
CRITICAL SPECS & WHY THEY MATTER
Why it matters: Stage lights, camera rigs, and console monitors won't catch reflections from your chair. Critical for FOH positions, broadcast facilities, and side-stage work where even small reflections can distract performers or create visual issues on camera. This isn't about aesthetics—it's about professional invisibility.
Why it matters: The same material used in military and aerospace applications. This isn't cheap plastic—it's engineered composite that flexes precisely to distribute weight while supporting up to 350 lbs. The frame's unique flexing properties work with the mesh tensioning to eliminate pressure points. This technology is what makes the ZenWave™ motion possible.
Why it matters: Not all mesh is created equal. The Stealth uses different tension zones across the seat—tighter where you need support, more flexible where you need give. This precise engineering disperses your weight optimally regardless of your body position. Combined with the fiber-reinforced frame, this creates the "floating" sensation that eliminates pressure points completely.
Why it matters: When you lean forward to work, traditional chairs force your pelvis to rotate backward—stacking your spine unnaturally and crushing your discs. The Active Tilt seat pivots forward with you, maintaining proper pelvic position and natural spine curvature. This single feature prevents the 40%+ disc pressure increase that standard chairs create. You can lean into marathon sessions without cumulative damage.
PATENTED ZENWAVE™ MOTION TECHNOLOGY
The patented ZenWave™ motion provides unbinding, stress-free support as you lean forward naturally, protecting your lower back from further injury. The scientifically designed backrest moves with you to massage the lumbar area of your spine, increasing blood flow and nutrients to lower back muscles and intervertebral discs.
The patented ZenWave™ motion technology allows you to float forward and backward without harmful pressure. Your body's natural movements are supported, not restricted.
The Active Tilt™ seat plate pivots smoothly forward and backward to promote proper body alignment, maintaining your natural lordosis curve in all positions.
The "Free-Float" backrest stays with you as you lean forward, giving continuous support. Unlike static backrests that abandon you when you work.
Customize your seat and backrest position with three lever adjustments. Height, tilt angle, and backrest tension—dial in your perfect working position.
Cool breathable mesh prevents perspiration buildup and keeps your clothes looking fresh. No more sweat-soaked shirts during marathon sessions.
The floating backrest actively massages your lumbar region with every movement, increasing blood flow and nutrient delivery to discs and muscles.
PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION: TRADITIONAL VS STEALTH
Traditional Office Chair
Stealth Chair with ZenWave™
These aren't theoretical numbers. Independent ergonomic studies show that the Stealth Chair reduces pressure points by 70% compared to traditional office chairs, while providing 80% more continuous lumbar support during forward-leaning work positions. The result? You can work longer, feel better, and protect your career from chronic pain.
PERFORMANCE OVER TIME: 16-HOUR SESSION
- Consistent energy through 16+ hour sessions
- No back pain during or after work
- Better focus in final hours of project
- Reduced fatigue-related mixing errors
- Can work multiple days without recovery time
- Significant fatigue after 6-8 hours
- Lower back pain starting at hour 4
- Mental fog in final hours
- Increased mistakes and revision needs
- Require full day recovery between sessions
The difference compounds over years. Engineers using Stealth Chairs report 60% less chronic back pain and 70% fewer days lost to injury compared to colleagues using traditional office chairs. Your chair is either extending your career or ending it.
THE CONVEX-SHAPED FLOATING BACKREST
Most backrests are concave—curved inward. This creates pressure points and forces unnatural posture. The Stealth backrest is convex—shaped to exactly match the natural outward curve of your lumbar spine.
Combined with the spring-loaded floating mechanism, the backrest "floats" with your movements as you lean forward and backward. This constant rolling motion actually massages the muscles in your lower back, increasing blood flow and hydrating your intervertebral discs.
The result? Your back muscles stay refreshed even during extended work sessions. Unlike any other chair in the world, Stealth models support you in traditional upright seated position OR forward-tilted declining position. For the first time in human existence, there's a better, healthier way to sit.
The convex shape matches your spine's natural curve, eliminating pressure points and providing continuous massage with every movement

ABOUT STEALTH
ABOUT STEALTH CHAIRS
Almost 40 years of engineering excellence • Trusted by the world's top studios, tours, and venues
THE PROBLEM EVERY ENGINEER FACES
Here's something they don't teach you in audio school: the wrong chair will end your career faster than bad monitoring.
Almost 40 years ago, ergonomic researchers made a discovery that should have changed everything. When you move from standing to sitting, the load on your intervertebral discs increases by over 40%. And when you lean forward to work—the position every engineer, lighting designer, and FOH tech spends hours in daily—traditional office chairs become torture devices.
"As you raise your thigh to sit, forcing your knee to a 90-degree angle, your pelvis rotates backward and tucks your tailbone under. This positioning stacks your intervertebral discs in a way that creates massive pressure on the discs, the nerves radiating from your spinal cord, and the connective tissues in your lower back. This isn't discomfort—it's cumulative trauma disorder. The kind of chronic back pain that ends careers."
— Ergonomic Research, 1985
Standard office chairs are designed for people who lean back and rest. You don't rest. You work. You lean forward over consoles. You reach for faders. You're locked in position for hours chasing a mix, programming a light show, or dialing in a broadcast feed. Every minute in the wrong chair compounds the damage.
We built Stealth Chairs because there wasn't a better way to sit—until now.
WHO WE ARE
ErgoLab has been an industry leader in ergonomically correct chair design and manufacturing for nearly four decades. We're not a furniture company that stumbled into pro audio—we're ergonomic specialists who understand your unique demands.
People are different. Not profound, but most chair manufacturers overlook this. At ErgoLab, we've embraced it by designing each chair to not only fit your body, but to specifically perform in your demanding work environment.
WHY WE EXIST
Sit in a Stealth Chair for any length of time and you'll realize it's like nothing you've sat in before. That's because we design for a specific combination of physical attributes and professional responsibilities.
Our exclusive designs provide unparalleled support that promotes proper posture during both resting and working activities, minimizes fatigue, reduces chronic back/neck/arm pain, and increases circulation. All of which help you perform at your best.
THE SCIENCE: PATENTED ZENWAVE™ TECHNOLOGY
Using patented technology, we designed a chair that allows you to maintain the natural lordosis curve in your lower back while leaning forward—something impossible with traditional chairs.
The secret? A seat shell that pivots as you lean forward, combined with a convex-shaped, specially tensioned mesh surface. This eliminates harmful loading of the intervertebral discs in both active working and resting positions.
This technology also equalizes pressure from the seat surface, eliminating uncomfortable pressure points under your thighs, tailbone, and hips as you lean forward. You'll feel like you're floating.
THE FLOATING BACKREST THAT WORKS WITH YOU
While most backrests are designed with a concave shape (which creates pressure points), our backrest is shaped to exactly match the convex lumbar curve of your lower back. Combined with a spring-loaded floating mechanism, the backrest literally moves with you as you lean forward and backward.
Here's what makes this revolutionary:
The floating motion constantly rolls up and down your back, actually massaging the muscles to increase blood flow and hydration of the intervertebral discs. This massaging action keeps your back muscles refreshed even during marathon 16-hour sessions. Your back gets better as the day goes on, not worse.
Unlike any other chair in the world, Stealth models can be used in traditional upright seated position OR in a forward-tilted declining position. For the first time in human existence, there's a better, healthier way to sit.
